And in between all that, they made time to teach workshops and travel through Europe to judge and showcase at national dj competitions. They headlined parties all over the country weekend after weekend, rocked huge festivals like Tomorrowland, Laundry Day, Pukkelpop, Les Ardentes and Rock Werchter, had a steady slot on national radio Studio Brussel, and even were the inhouse dj's for a talk show on national TV. The Mixfitz were already a household name in the national dj scene, but obviously things really took off for them when they struck gold. 6 months and hundreds of hours of practice time later, they went to London and actually won the world championship together. Soon after, Cross was asked by DJ Jack - with whom he had been in the IFC crew, alongside Swordz and Mastafingaz - to join him and DJ Damented in The Mixfitz to participate in the infamous DMC team championships. Which is exactly what Cross did in 2011, when he was crowned IDA world champ. But Cross had his eyes on bigger things, consistently doing well at the IDA world championships, where national champions from all over the world go head to head to become number one.
When he felt ready, he began participating and building his name in local dj-battles, soon rising to the top of the Belgian turntablist scene. Confined to his bedroom, and determined to become great at the more technical side of dj'ing instead of rocking parties, he spent countless hours alone honing his craft. As a teen, DJ Cross began dj'ing around the turn of the century - the glory days of turntablism - so it's no wonder he started off as a scratch nerd.
